UFC 257 result: McGregor loses TKO to Poirier in Round 2

Online Insider | Who doesn’t know Mc Gregor? Yes, everyone knows who McGregor is – The Notorious, the UFC champion which has defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Even though he lost and had retired from the UFC, Mc Gregor often made a fight with Khabib. But Khabib had decided to retire early after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on the grounds that he had promised his mother he would not fight without the presence of his father, Abdulmanap, who died in July 2020.

Main Event Of #UFC 257

Now at UFC 257 which was held in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Sunday (24/1/2021), Fox Sports live at 12.00 WIB / Local Indonesia Time,  became the first bet after the comeback.

The duel between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 invited many others to speculate. Khabib Nurmagomedov was no exception, he also opened his voice about his champion in the match.

The main event at Fight Island, Abu Dhabi between McGregor and Poirier itself is a rematch that was previously held in 2014. In the first edition, The Notorious won in the first round.

For McGregor, this is his first duel after deciding to retire in May 2020. His last opponent was Donald Cerrone. Practically, this is a place to prove whether this Irish fighter deserves to be rated as a UFC star or not.

The Game

Dustin Poirier’s final result, The duel was intense. From the start of the match, McGregor and Poirier attacked each other with a series of intense punches.

Then, Poirier tried to lower the tension of the fight by sticking to McGregor and trying to knock him down. This succeeded, McGregor’s aggressiveness decreased dramatically and made Poirier quite free to control him, even though his face was continuously hit with shoulder strikes.

The first round ended without a winner. In the second round, the tension arose again. Poirier now dared to respond to McGregor’s blows. Instead of immediately attacking, Poirier chose to be passive, becoming a counter boxer in order to find an opening to hit McGregor back.

Final Game To TKO

This moment was created when the second round entered two minutes 27 seconds. Poirier’s hard left hook hit McGregor very hard. Instantly, The Notorious fell. Poirier greeted him with a series of crushing blows and forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight in the second minute 31 seconds of the second round. McGregor lost for the second time consecutively at the UFC pride.
