A leading cloud-based software as a service company has announced to extend work from home until this summer in July 2021. It means that tech-company join ranks of top technology companies such as Google, Facebook, Spotify, Slack, Shopify, PayPal, and Uber.
On early pandemic they already conducted a survey to understand what are the employees needed and make a solution for best results which make real changes to their programs and policies like extended parental leave, childcare benefits, office set-up and more.
As reported from Salesforce.com, they will enforce how they’ll work going forward. It will give employees flexibility in how, when and where they work with three ways:
- Flex – When it’s safe to return to the office, most of our employees around the globe will work flex. This means they’ll be in the office 1-3 days per week for team collaboration, customer meetings, and presentations.
- Fully Remote – For employees who don’t live near an office or have roles that don’t require an office, they will work remotely full-time.
- Office-based – The smallest population of our workforce will work from an office location 4-5 days per week if they’re in roles that require it.
They said that their employees are the architects of the strategy and flexibility will be key going forward.
Salesforce is responsible to all theirs to empower people and get the job done during the schedule that works best for them and their teams and provide flexible options to help make them even more productive.
How it will be when working from home is a new trend in our lives. Work from home is the future of remote working and it is fast becoming the new model for a lot of businesses out there today. The remote work trends 2020 has been increasingly evolving since the beginning of this year due to the virus outbreak.
As work from home will be prolonged, the relationship between employer and employees must be redefined, at least there will be a new standard Key Performance Indicator / KPI for both management and employees. Instead of resisting the change, organizations should improve their remote work policies and capabilities.
These trends will help both employees and employers to better understand what it takes to work with a remote team and still be as productive as though they were in a traditional working space.
